Basics 4 Babies
Emergency Pantry for Infants
Our emergency pantry for infants provides formula, baby food and diapers for children ages birth through three in Palm Beach County whose families face financial hardship. Since our inception, HMHB has recognized a tremendous need for infant essentials that many of our families simply cannot afford. As a result, we opened Basics4Babies - an emergency pantry, which for 30 years focused on providing free diapers, wipes and basic baby needs to families residing in Palm Beach County who demonstrate need.
In 2017, our pantry expanded to include formula and baby food, adding a focused effort on infant hunger, ensuring that the tiniest residents of our county – those from birth to 12 months – have access to proper nutrition during the most critical stages of development. The pantry is designed to support families in times of emergency therefore some restrictions apply.
Maximum of 6 visits for formula between the ages of 0-12 months
Maximum of 6 visits for infant food packs between the ages of 6-12 months
Maximum of one visit per month per child for diapers between the ages of 0 through 3 years
Families may only access pantry items from one HMHB pantry location per month
Proof of Palm Beach County residency
Photo ID of the parent/caregiver
The baby must be present at time of service. In extenuating circumstances, if you cannot bring the baby, their birth certificate must be presented
Pantry inventory is based on community donations and local funders who give so generously. The need is often greater than our capacity to fill the shelves, therefore there are times when inventory is low preventing us from distribution.
Basics4Babies hours of operation:
West Palm Beach: Monday & Wednesday from 10am-3pm
Greenacres: Tuesday & Thursday from 10am – 3pm
Belle Glade: Tuesday from 10am-3pm
We are grateful to the Junior League of Boca Raton for their in-kind sponsorship of diapers to our Basics4Babies pantry.
Formula and baby food from Basics4Babies is made possible with funding from Ballen Isles Charities Foundation, Boca Rio Foundation, Emergency Food & Shelter National Board Program, First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, The Honda Classic Cares, Ibis Charitable Foundation, Mirasol Foundation and Wycliffe Charities Foundation.
