Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County is a nonprofit organization improving birth outcomes through the compassionate delivery of early prenatal care, education, and support for all pregnant women across our communities.
In 1985, Palm Beach County experienced a tragic increase in poor birth outcomes from a lack of available prenatal care. In response, a concerned community under the leadership of Dr. Carl Brumback, Dr. Marsha J. Fishbane, and Dr. David W. Martin established our agency to ensure any woman who needed early affordable care during her pregnancy could get it.
Begun as a volunteer-driven agency, HMHB grew through the decades to now boast 67 professionals on staff serving more than 10,000 expectant women each year. In 2021, we refreshed our look, vision, and voice, but one thing will never change: our commitment to healthy births.

Our Future
We are excited to share an important milestone in our journey at Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies! After months of thoughtful planning, collaboration, and reflection, we have officially launched our new three-year strategic plan (2025–2028) — a bold and focused roadmap designed to deepen our impact, strengthen our infrastructure, and expand the reach of our mission.
As the challenges we address continue to evolve, this plan positions us to be proactive, responsive, and innovative in our approach. It is more than a document — it is a shared vision for how we will work together to achieve meaningful, measurable change.
