40 Years of Labor, Love, and Healthy Beginnings
For four decades, we've been in labor—a labor of love—delivering hope, care, and support to every mother who walks through our doors. Our expectations haven't changed: every baby deserves the best start in life, and every mother deserves complete, compassionate care.
Portraits of Promise
Faces, shaped by endless expression, reveal the heart of a woman, a mother, a grandmother, a volunteer and donors, all preserving the promise to care for and cradle one another from birth. These portraits represent thousands of lives spanning our forty-year history, capturing the power of a promise and the generations it strengthens.
When world-renowned photographer Judith Rae stepped behind the camera to capture these portraits for Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, her approach to the project was about more than documenting faces—she wanted to preserve the people and promises representing the organization across four decades in vision and voice. Each black-and-white image and unique story told reveals the humanity of an organization that has touched over 10,000 families annually since its founding in 1986.
Throughout 2026, "Portraits of Promise" will travel across Palm Beach County, finding homes in hospitals, health centers, and partner agencies—spaces where mothers seek care and support daily. This strategic placement ensures the exhibit reaches not just art enthusiasts, but the very families who might need HMHB's services, turning each viewing into a potential lifeline.
This portrait collaboration with the LaFrance Project adds another layer of community partnership, demonstrating how creativity and philanthropy can amplify social missions through artistic expression.
