Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies provides Childbirth Classes through the Florida Outreach Childbirth Education Program (FOCEP). This class covers such topics as stages of labor and delivery, labor support techniques, breathing and relaxation, pain management, and C-sections. Pregnant women typically attend these classes in the third trimester of their pregnancy. Support partners are also encouraged to join the class.
It is recommended to bring the following items as we will be moving to the ground for interactive practice of comfort techniques during labor :
Two (2) pillows for each participant
One (1) blanket, comforter, or yoga mat

Ruth Kraft is an evidence-based birth instructor and doula trainer with over 20 years of experience helping new parents. She has been certified through two of the largest organizations for doulas including CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association). She has a passion for teaching and views it as empowerment. Her love is in assisting families to understand they have a say in their birthing experience.
