Prenatal Outreach

The foundation of the Prenatal Care Outreach Program is to identify at-risk, culturally diverse pregnant women in isolated and low-income communities through Palm Beach County.

The overall goal of the program is to link pregnant women to early prenatal care and other Maternal, Child & Family Support Network services.

The Outreach Program staff includes six outreach workers. Staff composition is culturally diverse and bilingual in Spanish, Creole, and Konjobal.

The outreach workers educate the community on the importance of prenatal care in the first trimester by participating in group/networking activities and attending community events. The staff participate in a wide variety of street and community outreach activities and work flexible hours which include evening and weekend hours.

The staff is trained in Access to Care issues, Medicaid, SOBRA, Health Care District and Florida KidCare Insurance. Bus passes are distributed in the community to assist clients with transportation to the agency for their first appointment with a care coordinator.
