Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies provides pregnant women with Health Care Navigation services. This program was created to offer hands on assistance to ensure that our clients are receiving consistent and early access to prenatal health care as well as other resources to enhance the birth outcome of their baby.
The local health and eligibility systems are often overwhelming and difficult to navigate, making it a challenge for pregnant women to apply without help and support. Those who try to navigate the system independently may find themselves being denied for lacking documentation which delays acceptance and often puts moms well into the second trimester of their pregnancy. Our team of compassionate, highly skilled and bilingual Navigators, provide one-to-one assistance to pregnant women, connecting them to necessary service. Services may include assistance in completing applications, translation, interpretation, advocacy and support at prenatal medical appointments. HMHB utilizes on-site staff from the Department of Children and Families which allows our clients to obtain coverage in a more timely manner.
Our Health Care Navigators work with the Florida Department of Health Palm Beach County, the Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center (RPICC), the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Economic Self Sufficiency, the Health Care District and other institutions in the county. All of HMHB’s Navigation staff is trained on eligibility and processes for the various programs as well as cultural competency.
